Bass Coast Festival is hiring an Artist Transportation Co-Manager.


Bass Coast Festival is a thoughtfully curated boutique music and art festival that takes place in the picturesque shared traditional territories of the Nłeʔkepmx and Syilx. Moving into its 14th year, Bass Coast has garnered a global reputation for showcasing innovative international talent and providing a springboard for Canadian artists.


The Artist Transportation co-Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing transport by working closely with artists and artist representatives to ensure all needs are met. This position will also be responsible for managing transportation staff and volunteers. This position will work opposite shifts as the other Artist Transportation Co-Manager. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with artists. The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from Wed July 6 - Mon July 11, 2022, and be available for pre-show training and team meetings


  • Work closely with artists and artist representatives on transportation needs, scheduling, and resolving any issues that may arise.  
  • Manage duties in the transport office (i.e. inventory, dispatch, scheduling, etc.)
  • Oversee departmental hiring (i.e. vetting candidates for appropriate skillset, recruiting proper number of drivers needed, adhering to company recruiting protocols, ensuring staff are onboarded in a timely manner).
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment operate in a safe and efficient manner and are in proper working condition.
  • Schedule all transportation schedules in Festival Pro software.
  • Communicate with department leads (Gates, Security, Parking, Artist Relations)  to ensure smooth entry and exit of the festival.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to coordinate airport, hotels and festival site transport.
  • Support Production Manager and Artist Relations with required tasks.


  • Experience managing a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Experience working in the outdoor elements.
  • Excels at working with google spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Attention to detail with administrative tasks.
  • Experience advancing hospitality needs.
  • Ability to keep track of multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, with demonstrated initiative and multitasking capabilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and team spirit.
  • Effective leader and motivator.
  • Must possess superior organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Possess a Valid Driver's Licence Class 5 for transporting up to 7 people and cargo shipping is mandatory.
  • Passion for the high pressure and fast paced environment of festival production.
  • Experience working or attending festivals and / or events is an asset.


Contract Duration:

Wed July 6 - Mon July 11, 2022 on Festival Site. With minimal training hours. 


Flat rate contract: $1,300

Bass Coast offers an innovative, flexible and creative work environment. All Bass Coast employees work remotely during pre-show and post-show and are required to have their own computer, and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). In addition, a vehicle and valid driver's licence is required. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely via zoom with team members. In-person meetings may be required.
