Bass Coast Festival is hiring a GATE ACCESS ASSISTANT MANAGER.


Bass Coast Festival is a thoughtfully curated boutique music and art festival that takes place in the picturesque shared traditional territories of the Nłeʔkepmx and Syilx. Moving into its 14th year, Bass Coast has garnered a global reputation for showcasing innovative international talent and providing a springboard for Canadian artists.


The position is responsible for assisting the Gate Access Manager with managing and overseeing operations at Gates. Our ideal candidate will have experience managing a festival gate and ticketing experience. They will have a passion for making people feel welcome and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from July 4 - July 11, 2022 and be available for a handful of pre-show remote training sessions in June


Assist the Gate Access Manager with the following:

  • Welcome and process all in-house festival attendees (artist, guests, contractors, etc.)
  • Support all systems and processes related to ticket processing and accreditation at the staff gate.
  • Train and manage the Gate Volunteer team.
  • Liaise with Security, Gates, Parking, Artist Relations and other relevant departments.
  • Address ticketing issues as required.
  • Track and reconcile ticket stock inventory.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment, as well as, report and follow up on any ticketing repair issues.


  • Experience with gates management and ticketing programs.
  • Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience handling sensitive customer disputes and issues.
  • Experience managing people and/or leading a team.
  • Experience working with cash.
  • Able to stay calm during stressful situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must possess superior organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable dealing with police and emergency services.
  • Able to use discretion when handling one-off situations. 
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental elements (wind, rain) for long hours.
  • Experience working or attending festivals and / or events.
  • Experience working with artists is an asset.


Must be available to be on the festival site from July 4 - July 11 and be available for a handful of pre-show remote training sessions in June. 

Bass Coast offers an innovative, flexible and creative work environment. All Bass Coast employees work remotely during pre-show and post-show and are required to have their own computer and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely via zoom with team members. 


Flat rate contract: $1,500-1,600
