Listen to the latest in our Bass Coast Official Mix Series

We're excited to kick off 2017 with three new instalments in our Official Mix Series. Enjoy new music from Sabota, Lorne B and Jah Raven.

Sabota is a collaboration between Vancouver house and techno staple Max Ulis, and singer-songwriter Robbie Slade. Sabota is probably the most left-field thing in Robbie's catalogue of music, while it's certainly the most pop-sensible thing Max has been a part of. As the project grows, each has started exploring the other's role, that is, Max has been contributing to writing lyrics and song arrangement, while Robbie has been taking on more of a role in producing. This get/give flow of energy and non-verbal communication is at the very heart of Sabota.

A purveyor and selector of underground dance music in Western Canada, Lorne B has been pushing community and sound for over a decade. Lorne B contributes to a number of different projects including helping curate Bass Coast Festival's lineup alongside The Librarian and Max Ulis.

Known to run the gauntlet of genres for the dancefloor, Lorne B plays sets that vary within the mutated sounds of electronic dance + dub music. He's played alongside dance music heavyweights at home and abroad and continues to be an ambassador of Western Canada's underground scene.

Jah Raven is multidisciplinary artist originally from Calgary, but now living in the Kootenays. Jah Raven uses hardware to create original house and techno tracks. His 2016 performance was a highlight for many and we're proud to publish it for your listening pleasure.
