Bass Coast Festival is a thoughtfully curated boutique music and art festival that takes place in the picturesque shared traditional territories of the Nłeʔkepmx and Syilx. Moving into its 15th year, Bass Coast has garnered a global reputation for showcasing innovative international talent and providing a springboard for Canadian artists.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The position is responsible for assisting the Beverage Manager in ensuring the smooth coordination and success of the 5 Bass Coast Bars as well as providing excellent customer service and employee support.
Our ideal candidate will have an interest in serving, creating a fun and safe atmosphere, and knowledge of current beverage trends, inventory tracking, and P.O.S systems. Bass Coast offers a competitive contract fee for this position. The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from July 6 - 11, 2023.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the Beverage Manager with following duties:
- Support the set up and coordination of the Bass Coast Bars
- Supports the bar managers at each bar
- Manage inventory systems and product
- Manage the POS system and training
- Collaborate with Security and Harm Reduction departments
- Assist with manual labour onsite
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in bars for 3+ years
- Experience working with the Square program
- Experience working with volunteers
- Effective interpersonal skills and team spirit
- Known as a leader and motivator
- Must possess superior organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment
- Knowledge of current food and beverage trends
- Experience working or attending festivals and / or events is an asset
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Contract Duration:
May - June 2023: Available for minimal remote pre-show and post-show planning hours.
July 6 - July 11, 2023: On festival site.
Bass Coast offers an innovative, flexible and creative work environment. All Bass Coast employees work remotely during pre-show and post-show and are required to have their own computer, and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely via zoom with team members.
Compensation:
Flat rate contract: $1200
