Bass Coast Festival is hiring an Artist Driver.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Bass Coast Drivers are responsible for shuttling people and cargo to and from the festival, including artist pickup at nearby airports. As a first point of contact for artists arriving by air, our drivers provide a safe and welcoming experience for artists, transporting them to the festival and through the check in process.

Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator, reliable, with professional driving experience. The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from July 10 -  July 15, 2024. You are not required to use your own vehicle, but additional compensation for personal vehicle use may be an option.

ABOUT BASS COAST
Bass Coast is a thoughtfully curated boutique electronic music and art festival held in Merritt, BC on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Nlaka’pamux and Syilx people.

Moving into its 16th year, Bass Coast is an independent & artist owned festival with accolades that include two consecutive wins of DJ Mag’s ‘Best Boutique Festival in North America’, 'Best Midsize Festival in Canada' by Canada Music Awards, and 'Best Music Festival in Vancouver' runner-up by the Georgia Straight Vancouver. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide transportation services for artists, staff, and volunteers; shuttling people and cargo to and from the festival (there may be on-call hours).
  • Able to use your own phone to communicate and be available at all times.
  • Ensure artists are welcomed and feel safe. 
  • Follow a strict schedule and keep in constant communication with the Manager on duty providing updates on routes and timelines.
  • Work within one’s own abilities, communicating any fatigue or illness to the Manager on duty to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Keep vehicles clean and presentable at all times, cleaning out waste when needed. Washing vehicle as required.
  • Ensure vehicle fuel levels remain above 1/4 tank at all times. Keep track of all expense receipts for reimbursement.
  • Hold positive relationships with Security, Gates and the Artist Relations team to create a positive working environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence is mandatory. Class 4 is an asset (for transporting groups of 10 or more people). You must know and abide by all rules of the road.
  • Professional experience driving for long hours.
  • Able to be available by phone at all times.
  • Able to work on call and be flexible and adaptable with changing schedules.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment
  • Experience driving a truck, sprinter van, or bus is an asset.

Compensation:
Flat rate contract: $200/day
