Bass Coast Festival is a thoughtfully curated boutique music and art festival that is held on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Nlaka’pamux and Syilx people. Moving into its 15th year, Bass Coast has garnered a global reputation for showcasing innovative international talent and providing a springboard for Canadian artists.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Bass Coast Festival is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee the management of all festival supply inventory. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, assembling and distributing department-specific inventory, training and managing volunteers, and ensuring proper sign-out and return procedures for all items.
The Inventory Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Bass Coast inventory management processes. The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from June 24 - July 14, 2023.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure detailed inventory spreadsheets are completed by all departments
- Assist with purchasing request review
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price
- Assess supply requests with Production Manager and Liz Thomson
- Unpack containers, assemble and distribute department inventory during the festival
- Collect all receipts and coordinate receipt system with accounting daily
- Ensure proper sign-out and return procedures for inventory
- Receive all deliveries that come to the site
- Work closely with all department managers
- Pack inventory into containers post-festival
- Train assistant and volunteer team
- Participate in meetings when needed.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a festival or events environment
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Practical experience with spreadsheets (Google Sheets).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles, including inventory forecasting and replenishment
- High level of critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and curiosity to learn.
- Enjoys organizing, establishing and managing priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated and willing to work alone or collaboratively with fellow colleagues.
- Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment.
- Passion for the high-pressure and fast-paced environment of festival production.
- Experience working or attending festivals and/or events is an asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work unrestricted in Canada.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Contract Duration:
May - July: Pre-show and Post-show remote hours are required.
June 23 - July 14, 2023: On the festival site.
July 7 - July 9, 2023: Days off during showtime.
Compensation:
Flat rate contract: $4850
Bass Coast offers an innovative, flexible and creative work environment. All Bass Coast employees work remotely during pre-show and post-show and are required to have their own computer, and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely via zoom with team members. In-person meetings may be required. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
