Bass Coast Festival is a thoughtfully curated boutique music and art festival that is held on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Nlaka’pamux and Syilx people. Moving into its 15th year, Bass Coast has garnered a global reputation for showcasing innovative international talent and providing a springboard for Canadian artists.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and experienced packer to join our team. The Inventory Packer will be responsible for efficiently and meticulously packing sea-cans with festival inventory. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all festival equipment and supplies are securely and optimally packed for transportation, storage, and efficient utilization during events.
The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from July 10 - July 14, 2023.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Pack festival inventory, including equipment, supplies, decorations, and merchandise, into sea-cans according to established guidelines and specifications.
- Organize and arrange items within the sea-cans to maximize space utilization while ensuring safe handling and transport.
- Implement effective packing strategies to protect delicate and fragile items from damage during transit.
- Label and tag sea-cans with appropriate inventory details, including contents, weight, and handling instructions.
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure accurate documentation and tracking of packed items.
- Conduct regular quality checks to verify the accuracy, completeness, and condition of packed inventory.
- Comply with safety regulations and best practices to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries during packing activities.
- Assist with loading and unloading sea-cans using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing area to facilitate efficient operations.
- Communicate any inventory discrepancies, issues, or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Proven experience as a packer or in a similar role, preferably in a festival or event setting.
- Strong knowledge of packing techniques, materials, and equipment used for sea-can packing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to packing and transportation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Contract Duration:
July 10 - July 14, 2023: On the festival site.
Compensation:
Flat rate contract: $200/day
