Volunteer Information Package

Bass Coast Festival creates unique opportunities for people to interact with music, art, nature and each other. Volunteering is an incredible way to dive deeper into our 10th edition, expanding your skills and making new friends as you create the magic with us.

Volunteers are truly the heroes of Bass Coast Festival. We reward your dedication with choice camping, a volunteer headquarters, commemorative Bass Coast merchandise, access to full festival programming and other festival perks.

21 Hours: If you are working during the festival only (Thurs July 5 - Mon July 9)

28 Hours: If you are working during pre-show or post-show, (June 23rd - July 5 / July 9 - July 14)


A $319 volunteer deposit deposit fee+tax) (“Deposit”) is required to process your application.The Deposit (less a $30 processing fee) is only refundable upon completion of the shifts assigned.

By paying your Deposit you are committing to the dates you have applied for. Please ensure you are available for the dates you have listed in your application before paying and completing your application, as changes to availability cannot be accepted once your Deposit and your application have been processed.


Payment Plans are available as an option for paying your Deposit.

All volunteers must be available for the entire weekend of Friday July 6 - Sunday July 8, AND EITHER Thursday July 5 OR Monday July 9. You must choose 4 of these dates for your application to be accepted. For example, your availability must be July 5-9 OR July 7-10


The Deposit protects the festival if a volunteer cancels or does not show up to their shifts. If for some reason you need to cancel before June 8th, you are responsible for finding another volunteer who is available for the exact same shifts and qualified for the teams you selected. The replacement must be approved in advance by the volunteer coordinator. Alternatively, if there is a medical or work emergency, please provide a doctor’s note or letter from your employer to receive a refund of your Deposit. Any cancellations after June 8th, are non-transferable and Deposits will be non-refundable.


May 30: After this date any cancellations are non-transferable and Deposits are non-refundable.

July 5/6: On-Site Volunteer Orientations for all Volunteers

July 30: The latest the Deposits will be refunded to participating volunteers.


Bass Coast is a 19-plus-event and government issued photo ID is required to enter the festival site. No animals are permitted on-site before, during or after the event.


Come prepared with clothing appropriate for outdoor work in all elements. We may experience extreme heat, torrential rain, severe thunderstorms or high winds. The festival goes on, rain or shine.


Pre-festival volunteers are only allowed on site as early as 1 day before their shift. Only if a Volunteer is scheduled to work between the dates of June 23rd and July 5th are they authorized to be on site before July 6th. Any volunteers showing up early will be asked to camp off site. Read your volunteer package carefully (to be sent closer to the festival).

All Volunteers may enter the festival grounds starting at noon on Thursday, July 5. Prior to Thursday, July 5, there will be restrictions on certain campsite access for pre-festival volunteers.
