Ez Naive is the virtual identity of Elli Zogia. Elli is a Greek artist currently living and creating on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
“I wanted to capture the essence of the iconic and beloved lone tree at Bass Coast, encircled by a portal representing deep reflection. Drawing inspiration from the festival’s natural beauty - the trees, flowing waters, and lush greenery - I aimed to portray the captivating and magical atmosphere known and cherished by all who have experienced Bass Coast.
This artwork symbolizes a personal journey, encouraging individuals to stay grounded and connected to their inner selves amidst the dreamlike backdrop of nature. Beyond the musical festivities, my goal was to evoke feelings of interpersonal connection and emotional exploration through this design.
The encircling portal, serving as both a mirror and a passageway, embodies the festival’s blend of introspection and outward exploration. This symbolic lone tree serves as a powerful emblem of Bass Coast Festival, encapsulating its core spirit and the enchantment of its surroundings.” - Ez Naive
