2022 Application Overview

Bass Coast offers an array of curated experiences including art installations, workshops, movement classes, performance as well as artisan, spa and culinary vending. A number of artists, artisans and educators come together each year to make the festival a success.   

Here's a look at the applications available.

 

ART GRANTS:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022
Bass Coast is an immersive artistic experience. Each year a number of highly talented visual artists are given the opportunity to showcase their work at the festival, supported through the Art Grant program. Bass Coast supports and showcase visual artists, from virtuosos to those just beginning their professional careers.

PERFORMANCE:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022

The stages and grounds of Bass Coast play host to a range of performance artists. Examples of performance styles that have traditionally been featured at the festival include:

  • Roving performances that move throughout the festival site. These performances are encouraged to include interactive elements or characters. 
  • Group stage performances lasting from 5-20 minutes. 
  • Aerial artists that perform to their own music or during another set. 

Bass Coast unfortunately cannot accept applications from performances featuring fire due to environmental conditions that make wildfire risk extremely high.

LIVE ART:

Bass Coast selects a variety of of live visual artists to create large scale pieces throughout the duration of the festival. 

 

FOOD VENDING:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022
The attendees of Bass Coast work up a serious appetite over a weekend of dancing. Luckily there is a wide variety of nourishing, delicious vendors ready to serve them. Bass Coast encourages applications from vendors who locally source their resources and have innovative ways to handle waste.

 

ARTISAN VENDING:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022
Artisans of all kinds are invited to sell their wares at Bass Coast. Three different store sizes are made available to suit multiple kinds of businesses. Bass Coast encourages vendors to have a unique presentation of their store.

PHOTO & VIDEO
January 15th, 2021 - April 1, 2022
A small team of skilled photographers and videographers capture the innumerable moments of Bass Coast. Those with a unique perspective and solid portfolio are encouraged to apply. 


WORKSHOPS:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022
Bass Coast is committed to fostering meaningful conversations that inspire personal growth. 2019 saw a range of informative and thought provoking workshops take place, with topics ranging from consent culture and gender 101 to biotech, Eurorack synthesizers and decolonized dancefloors.

MOVEMENT WORKSHOPS: 
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022
Every year Bass Coast provides its community with access to a full program of movement workshops. These classes facilitated by professional instructors are designed to help attendees unwind, relax, and stay moving throughout the weekend. Bass Coast is looking for educators with training and experience relevant to their workshop topic, and accessible and inclusive workshops and classes that offer unique and innovative perspectives and techniques. 

 

SPA VENDING:
December 15th, 2021 - February 15th, 2022

The Bass Coast Babe Spa. A place to rejuvenate and unwind after a big night on the dancefloor. We are looking for massage, hair, makeup, nails and other services that may be of help to ravers before or after a big night n the dancefloor. 

 

VOLUNTEERS: Open Jan 17, 2022, open until positions are filled.
Bass Coast is fuelled by 600+ dedicated volunteers involved in every aspect of the festival. Volunteers foster connections, learn valuable event production skills and become part of a creative community.
