As part of Bass Coast’s ongoing commitment to learning, safety, and accountability, we are asking everyone to watch these 7 short videos. Each video has a worksheet with additional resources. There is also a quiz to complete after watching all 7.

Worksite Safety Rules
Music Artists, Performance Artists, & Workshop Facilitators are NOT REQUIRED to review the Safe Coast video.
- DAILY ORIENTATION: Attendance at the daily site safety orientation is mandatory.
- GEAR UP: Follow WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations and wear PPE. Closed-toe shoes everywhere, steel-toe shoes & high-vis vests in construction zones, hard hats for overhead dangers.
- SLOW DOWN: Observe the 5 - 8 KPH speed limit at all times. Use headlights at night.
- SAFETY AT HEIGHTS: Use fall protection PPE at heights of 10ft (3m) or greater.
- INTOXICATED INDIVIDUALS: Those under the influence of drugs/alcohol will be asked to leave immediately. Substance consumption at any work site is strictly prohibited.
- FIT FOR DUTY: Impairment includes fatigue, medication side effects, and emotional stress. Talk to your team, rest as needed, and avoid operating vehicles, equipment, or power tools.
- KEEP IT TIDY: Dispose of food waste in designated areas. Keep tools and worksites tidy.
- RESTRICTED AREAS - STAY OUT: Respect control zones, fencing, and warning signs. No unauthorized entry.
- RESPECT THE SITE: Theft, vandalism, or any other abuse or misuse of the site will not be tolerated.
- SPEAK UP: Report hazards, unsafe acts, and conditions to your Manager. Right to refuse unsafe work.
- NEAR MISSES & INCIDENTS: Document all near misses and incidents, even without injuries. Notify the appropriate team and complete the Incident Investigation Report. Report unwanted sexualized behavior immediately.
- NO WORK WITHOUT THE TICKET: Necessary licenses or certificates required for tasks needing proof of training or motorized equipment operation.
- WORKING IN ISOLATION: Avoid working alone. Use communication devices, regular check-ins and adjust frequency of breaks.
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE: Radio dispatch immediately or +1 (672) 699-6606.
- Medical: Stay with injured, contact first aid.
- Harm Reduction: Find volunteer in pink Harm Reduction shirt.
- Weather: Identify dangers, notify team, seek shelter.
- Fire:> Alert others, clear area, extinguish if safe, move to muster point.
- 15. RESPECT & DIGNITY: Respect for team members, visitors, and guests is essential. Harassment or bullying will not be tolerated.
