Preview: Wabi Time - No Fun Radio Showcase

Bass Coast 2018 is underway and a number of artists from around the world are getting ready to perform in Merritt. In addition to the wide selection of international talent, Bass Coast’s lineup also includes some of the top electronic artists from British Columbia.

The festival’s own Robbie Slade is hosting a 3 hour NFR Radio showcase. NFR radio is a Vancouver based internet radio station that provides a platform for some of the city’s most exciting emerging artists. A number of Bass Coast 2018 performers have residencies on the station including DJ D.Dee and D. Tiffany. Saturday's showcase will feature Cam Dales, Roxy Motorola, and Slim Media Player on. Here’s a closer look at the performers.

Cam Dales is a veteran Vancouver DJ and promoter. He hosts the show Concrete Island on NFR where he plays a wide selection of dance music, often dipping into deep New Wave territory. He is also an accomplished graphic designer.

Roxy Motorola is a co-founder of the Vancouver based DJ collective and party series Switch. As part of Switch she hosts a bi-weekly show on NFR. A self-proclaimed Techno Princess, her sets walk the line between stripped-back and soulful. She is at the forefront of a new generation of Vancouver DJ’s establishing the city as a destination for club music.

Despite having a relatively small catalog of published music, Vancouver producer Slim Media Player has been generating a considerable amount of buzz. The two cuts he released on the Rhythms Of The Pacific Volume 3 compilation have found their way into a number of DJ sets globally. His recently announced LP on Pacific Rhythm will be one of the most hotly anticipated records of the year. Check out his show Hangin' & Bangin' every Friday night 8-10pm on No Fun Radio.
